There is a lot of things that are going on at the moment in Brisbane which will shape the city into a world city within the coming years. With an economy of $154 billion set to soar to $217 billion by 2031, Brisbane’s promising future is as exciting as its colossal plans.

The Queens Wharf is going to be a major attraction for BrisbaneThis $3.6 billion entertainment and lifestyle precinct seeks to transform the Brisbane central business district’s riverfront, hosting a casino, 5 hotels and over 50 bars and restaurants. There will also be 2,000 residential units, significantly adding to currently limited riverfront living options in Brisbane’s CBD. This place will be hosting Brisbane’s first 100-metre sky deck and pedestrian access which will provide direct access to Southbank.

Brisbane Airport’s second runway which will be scheduled to open in 2020 will double the current capacity of the airport. This will make tourism pop by an incredible $6 billion and will be creating 7,800 jobs within 15 years. With this expansion, travellers will be able to have a greater variety of choice when flying internationally or domestically this includes destinations, airlines and flight times.

By 2031, an additional 662,000 people will reside in Brisbane which is more than the combined current populations of the Gold and Sunshine Coasts, making Brisbane’s population close to three million.

Brisbane Live is a $2 billion project that will be constructed above the current Roma street rail lines. This complex will be able to seat 17,000 people. This place will be hosting a multiplex cinema, amphitheatre, apartments, a rock club, dining precinct, hotels and medical facilities and will be absolutely state of the art.

The Howard Smith Wharf is absolutely incredible. This $100 million project will restore the heritage-listed buildings and 3.4-hectare wharf into restaurants, bars, a 164-room boutique hotel, and a 1,500 square metre exhibition centre. The unique development site is located in New Farm, along the banks of the Brisbane river, with unequalled views of the Story Bridge and CBD.

The Waterfront Precinct is arguably Brisbane’s most popular recreational dining hub, Eagle Street Pier is set to undergo a transformation. The Waterfront Precinct will revitalise the current riverside destination to include two new towers and re-develop the five existing buildings, complemented by 1.5 hectares of accessible open riverfront space.
