How important are goals? You may ask yourself.
What are your goals? This is the first question I ask you.
What are you trying to achieve by buying a property? More cash flow, build my asset base to fund my retirement, go on a holiday, pay for the children’s education, more free time to do the things you want to do?
Sometime this is hard to say as you have not put much thought to it. You are in a comfortable place in the rat race. It is funny when someone asks you this and you tell them I don’t know. I don’t have time to look at this? Then I ask them what you like? What would you like to change? How would you like to live your life? This is all your goals or things you would like to achieve.
Then some people know where they are going – these are the people that a driven, seem to get everything and are usually having a lot of fun living life.
The starting point for me is a vision board as I am a picture person, and it drives these into my subconscious.
I go and pull pictures of all the things I like, holidays, dream houses, cars, children’s things, just anything that makes me feel good. I think this should be done every year as things change and you will have achieved some of the things off your board. My example is I always wanted to drive an Audi can and this was on my vision board for about 4 years. Then just this month I brought my first Audi. Fantastic how this happens!
The other thing is I made like a bucket list but this is called 100 Things. Check out the website to 100 Things http://100things.com.au/
On my hundred list was to climb the Sydney Harbor Bridge so was my short video from the top of the Sydney Harbor Bridge.
