The area is also serviced by Heavy Rail via city train via the Ormeau railway station (3km from Pimpama Village), facilitating direct access to the Gold Coast, Brisbane, Ipswich and further afield. The Gold Coast Airport is located 40 minutes from Pimpama and will soon by accessible by train with the new stages of the light rail being constructed and planned by council. Redevelopment of the Gateway to Australia’s best tourist destination is expected to commence in coming year, with significant expansion planned for terminal and its facilities.
